The City of Eau Claire is currently seeking qualified candidates for the City Surveyor position. This position, under general direction of the Engineering Director, manages municipal construction projects, leads survey crews on construction projects, ensures accurate land descriptions and alignments, and more!

Requirements: 

• A bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field OR an associate degree in Land Surveying or related field and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in surveying and professional engineering.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain Professional Land Surveyor license in the State of Wisconsin within 12 months of hire.
• Must possess or obtain (within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of Wisconsin State Statutes relating to the development of land and must be able to read, write, and research land legal descriptions.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience or training in computer- aided drafting software, Trimble Access and Road field collection software.
• Experience with GPS and conventional surveying equipment and methods, including robotic total station and automatic and digital levels.
