Prevail Bank Shred Event Helps Kids Attend Camp with $1,185 Donation
Turning paper into something powerful, Prevail Bank’s Community Shred Day in Eau Claire raised $1,185 for the YMCA of the Chippewa Valley’s youth summer camp scholarship program.
Prevail Bank pledged to donate $1 for every pound of paper shredded, up to $1,000—and the community rose to the challenge, bringing in 1,900 pounds of documents to be safely destroyed and recycled. True to its pledge, Prevail Bank gifted $1,000; the public donated an additional $185.
This event was a win-win,” said Balthazor. “We helped people protect their personal information while supporting a cause that makes a real difference right here in our community.”
A special check presentation was held at Prevail Bank’s Eau Claire branch. Prevail Bank hosted nine Community Shred Day events this year. It collected and shredded nearly 9 tons of paper, resulting in $11,387 in donations to nine nonprofits. The bank remains committed to making central Wisconsin a better place to live, work, and thrive.
