Professional Development: OnBoard Training

Friday, May 13, 2022 (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

Join the United Way of the Greater Chippewa Valley Emerging Leaders + the Young Professionals of the Chippewa Valley for a joint professional development event preparing community members to serve on local boards.  If you're new to board leadership or thinking about becoming a board member, this session will prepare you to confidently serve your community.

Board Membership provides Measurable Benefits for You and the Nonprofit You Serve

Board members are a vital component to the success of nonprofit organizations.  You know this. But how do you know you’re doing a good job? And while it might feel a bit self-serving to say it out loud, how can you serve a nonprofit in a way that meets your own goals as well?

During this workshop you’ll have the opportunity to learn the nuts and bolts of nonprofit board service, ask questions about what it means to be a great board member, and discover how you can add value while fulfilling your own personal and professional objectives.

Facilitator: Ann Kaiser, AMK Nonprofit Coaching

Ann and her husband Rick hail from the Glenwood City area, and have four grown children.  She is an alumni of UW Eau Claire and UW River Falls, with a degree in Accounting.  Ann has been around the nonprofit world in the Chippewa Valley for almost 25 years. Her professional involvement started as a part time community liaison for the Altoona School District. In 2002 she became the Executive Director for Family Resource Center and in 2006 joined HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital as Director of Philanthropy. In September 2019 she joined Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley as CEO. Her community involvement includes being a member of Clear Water Kiwanis for almost ten years, serving as President and Program Chair. She serves on the boards for Joshua’s Camp and Family Resource Center, currently serving as President. She also supports the Eau Claire Community Foundation’s Women’s Giving Circle as the 2022 Chair, and is the Chair of Leadership  EC for the 2021-22 class.  In her spare time, Ann supports nonprofit development through her consulting business, AMK Nonprofit Coaching.
