Eau Claire City Council meets this week
The Eau Claire City Council will hold its regular Legislative Session on Tuesday at 4 p.m. this week, but canceled its Monday Public Hearing because there are no agenda items requiring a hearing.
Tuesday's Business Agenda (see Agenda Packet linked below) includes authorization for the sale of bonds to finance various city capital projects; approval of appointments to boards, commissions, and committees; accepting a $48,000 donation for improvements to pickleball courts; acceptance of a $209,000 Law Enforcement Agency ARPA grant; and a Reserve Combination Class B Liquor license for a new establishment, 71FORE-Bar, at 2002 Fairfax St near Wagner's Bowling Alley. Wagner's owner Dave Burg plans a separate, new concept operation offering multi-sports simulators, big-screen TVs, and golf simulator leagues.
City Manager Stephanie Hirsch is also scheduled to provide the Council with updates on several housing-related projects, including a planned Housing Needs Assessment, plans for a zoning overhaul funded by ARPA dollars, a planned fall conference organized by the Housing Opportunities Commission; an Idea Lounge convened by Downtown Eau Claire, Inc., focused on issues related to people experiencing homelessness, and other plans.
